The short version
The Endless Murder has no game account, sign-in, studio analytics, crash reporter or studio-operated gameplay server. Your scores and settings stay on your device. On Android, Google Play handles optional purchases and Google's Mobile Ads SDK handles an optional ad you may watch for one revive.
What the game stores, and where
One save file, on your own device, in the storage the operating system gives the app. In full, it holds: your high score, your best distance, how many runs you have played, your audio and control settings, which crow and environment you have equipped, anything you have bought, whether you have seen the tutorial, the date you first ran the game, and an identifier the game generates for itself.
That identifier is thirty-two random hexadecimal characters the game makes up on first launch. It is not derived from your device, your account or any advertising ID, and it is not readable by anything outside the app. Its only job is to tell one save file from another.
The save file also has a slot for a referral tag. On the browser version that records a ?ref= parameter if you arrived through someone's link; the mobile versions have no way to fill it in and leave it empty. Either way it stays in the save file and is never sent anywhere.
Gameplay state is stored locally and is not sent to the studio. A purchase is handled by the platform store; the game checks which items that store says you own. Deleting the app removes its local save file.
Permissions
The Android build includes billing, internet and network-state permissions and the Google advertising ID permission through its Play Billing and Mobile Ads libraries. It does not request precise location or access to your files. The store listing should reflect the uploaded build.
Network access
Gameplay does not need a connection. On Android, Google Play Billing connects to the store to check purchases and process a purchase you start. Google AdMob connects to Google to request an optional rewarded ad. Store items and ads may be unavailable while offline. The game does not send scores, settings or referral tags to a studio server.
Purchases
Where the game offers paid items, the purchase is handled entirely by the platform store. Google Play Billing is wired into the Android build; the iOS purchase path is still in preparation. Your payment details go to the store, never to this game or the studio. The game keeps unlocked items in its local save file and checks purchases with the store.
Advertising
On Android, a player may choose to watch one Google AdMob rewarded ad to revive during a run. Ads do not interrupt play on their own. The Supporter Pass grants that revive without an ad. The game uses Google's User Messaging Platform to request consent where required before loading ads.
Google's Mobile Ads SDK can collect and share an IP address (which may indicate approximate location), app interactions such as launches, taps and ad views, diagnostic information, and device identifiers including the Android advertising ID. Google uses this information for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. See Google's Privacy Policy. The studio does not receive your local score or save file through AdMob.
Analytics and crash reporting
The studio has no separate analytics or crash-reporting SDK and does not receive your scores or run history. Google's advertising SDK processes app interactions and diagnostics as described above. Automated game tests run on development builds before release.
Children
The game does not ask players for their name or contact details. The Android advertising SDK's data practices are described above. The game's age rating is shown on each store listing.
Changes
This update describes the addition of optional rewarded ads and Google's Mobile Ads SDK to the Android build. Future material changes will be described here and dated at the top of this page.
